India is celebrating Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Indian independence. The year also marks the 70th year of diplomatic ties between the nations, making the event even more special.
To celebrate the event, the Indian embassy in Tokyo celebrated and organized an event in a Saree and Ikebana. The mahotsav was graced by spouse of the Japanese foreign minister Mrs. Hayashi and the spouse of ambassador of the Angola, Egypt, Kuwait, Palestine, Russia and Tunisia.
The event commenced with a description of the saree, followed by a show of various kinds of sarees originating from various parts of India. Beautiful Japanese & Indian models draped and walked the ramp in this beautiful attire with Hindi music in the background adding to the euphoria. Mrs. Hayashi was draped in a saree looking absolutely graceful and comfortable in the outfit. The countries also celebrated their cultural heritage with a round of rangoli where the theme was to create a colorful and vibrant peacock and lotus flower.
The event was co organized by the Ikebana International founding chapter. Each model stopped to get a bouquet of flowers from distinguished guests. Mrs. Gunjan Verma, who herself is an amazing artist, designed and conducted the event aesthetically.
